Summer Ball by Mike Lupica is about a 13 year old boy named Danny Walker. During the summer, Danny and his friends go to basketball. Thing mess up for him very bad and is forced to bunk with the younger kids. Danny is scared and pressured when he sees that the younger players are better than him. He feels like he should quit camp but encouraged to stay which leads him to win the championship. Overall, this book is excellent. Even though it is a good book, it is confusing at some part. This book is good for me and is in my reading level. I like this book and I recommend this book to everyone.

Jaws by Peter Benchley

Jaws by Peter Benchley is about a police chief named Martin Brody who works at the beach. He is shocked when he hears that there is a shark attack during summer which would lose their town's tourist attraction. The main scene of the book is when Martin, an oceanographer named Matt Hooper, and a vessel owner named Quint go to the middle of the ocean to kill the great while shark. Matt dies after the shark rams the cage, Quint drowns while trying to escape the shark, and the shark is eating through Quint's body while Martin manages to escape. This book is one of my favorite books I have read this quarter. It is very interesting and pretty easy to understand. This book is also similar to the movie too. I like this book very much and I recommend everyone to read this.
Midnight Runner by Jack Higgins
Midnight Runner by Jack Higgins is about a British spy names Sean Dillon who works for the government. His previous mission was to save the president from 3 Arab brothers who were planning to kill him. The Arab brothers have a sister named Kate who is trying to get revenge by finding out who killed them. She starts to kill government officials and people will high positions. Throughout the book, she decides to weakening America by destroying her huge oil fields. She does this because she knows that America if very dependent on it. This book is very good and has kept me reading more and more. It was not a difficult book to read and was easy to understand. I recommend this book to everyone.

The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver
The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver is about a girl named Taylor who lives in Kentucky. Taylor works at a hospital and soon saved enough money for her to buy a car. One day while her car broke down, a random women comes to girl and gives her child to her. One day while she was driving to Tuscon, Arizona, her tires become flat and enters a repair shop. Then, the owner named Mattie promises to take care of the child while Taylor moves in and gets a job. Taylor soon gets a job at a restaurant and get the child back to take care of her. So far, I read almost half of this book. This book is very interesting to read and easy to understand. Hopefully, I can finish this book in a couple of days because it is very enjoyable and has a good plot. I like this book very much and I recommend this book to everyone!

This Boys Life by Tobias Wolff
This Boys Life by Tobias Wolff is about a boys named Jack who is moving to Utah with his mom. They are moving after his mom had a troubling time with her husband. Jack was also trouble in school and also by the police. Halfway through the book, Jack is trying to leave Utah and run away to Alaska with his friend. He then later is going to different schools and moving around with his friends. Jack later gets caught by the police for stealing oil from a farm which leads him to be kicked out of the elite High School that he got accepted into. He then joins the army and serves in the Vietnam war. This book was very good and I enjoyed it a lot. Although some parts were confusing in the book, it was very interesting and kept me reading until I was finished. Overall, this book is excellent and I recommend this to everyone.

Miracle Boys by Jacqueline Woodson
Miracle Boys by Jacqueline Woodson is a book about 3 orphan brothers whose parents died. The brothers names are Charlie, Lafayette, and Tyree. Charlie just had came back from 2 years of reform school and is upset and angry, Tyree was about to go to college but soon gave up after his parents died, and Lafayette is also very upset about his parents death. Their father died of hypothermia after Tyree forced his father to save a lady who fell in a frozen water lake. Their mother died of a coma when Charlie was 9 years old. He was to young to know what to do. Throughout the book, they get in trouble very much and blame each other for their problems. Overall, this book is very good and I enjoyed it a lot. The book is very interesting and not too hard to read. I recommend this book to everyone.

Slam by Walter Dean Myers
Slam by Walter Dean Myers about a boy named Greg Harris who is a very good basketball player. He is a very good point guard and a slam dunker. His main problem he had that his coach and friends didn't give him the respect he deserved. He also had trouble in school because his teacher got mad at him for his grades. Greg's best friend named Ice is slowly moving away from him in his life. Greg thinks that Ice is selling and using drugs is the problem. I am 3/4 done with the book and I am enjoying it a lot. The plot and the characters are very interesting. I like this book because it is easy to understand and is in my reading level. This book is very good and I recommend this book to everyone!
