Book Reviews for Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

As I am finishing Tuesdays with Morrie By Mitch Albom, I agree with the reviews posted by others. It is a really good book about a man named Mitch and his college professor named Morrie. After graduating college, Mitch loses contact with Morrie and was starting to fail in his life and it became very frustrating for him. While he was watching TV, he sees Morrie on an interview so he decides to call him. Mitch is told that Morrie has a disease so he decides to visit him in the last months of his life. They started every Tuesdays. There, they talked about how to live and about life. I agree that most of this is about the purpose of life and shows how the mans loves his mentor. Also, I agree what Morrie told Mitch that, "Death will end a life but not a relationship". Overall, this book was amazing because it teaches people important lessons in their everyday life. It also was very easy to understand the plot and what is going on and I recommend this book to everyone!

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

As I am finishing up The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, the main character named Robert Langdon get tricked and goes to Washington by an evil villain named Mal'kah who kidnapped Peter Solomon and is trying to get the Ancient Mysteries from Robert for Peter's life who is Robert's friend. Robert goes to Washington and realized that he was tricked by someone else. Robert, Anderson, and Sato search to find Peter in museums and different places in Washington. Sato is the director of the CIA and Anderson is the capitol police chief. Also, Katherine Solomon is a scientist who has a secret laboratory in the Smithsonian Museum Support Center who tries to solve a code. Years before, Peter gives Robert a secret box which has talismans which means it has some sort of secret power. Inside the box is a small stone pyramid which has many symbols and puzzles. Later in the book, Mal'kah captures Robert and Katherine and then later brings Peter to The House of the Temple. Soon after that, Mal'kah tells Peter that he is his son Zachary and of how Peter left him in prison. As I am finishing the book, the story become more clearer to me and I understand it more. I understood it even though I did not read the books before it. This book is really good and I recommend this book to you!

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

In the book The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, the main character Robert Langdon friend Solomon has been kidnapped by this man named Mal'kha who is a tattooed covered villain. Mal'kah kidnapped Solomon so Robert can give the Ancient Mysteries to him. The special police agents search for the person who entered the Capitol Building. Soon after Solomon was captured, they were tattoos all over his hands. It was a picture of signs and these different shapes. Robert thinks that the symbol is the Hand of Mysteries. So far, I like this book but it gets really confusing to me. Half of the time, I have to read back what I already read so I can clearly understand it. I like the plot of the story so far and i recomend this book to you!

He quickly calls Peter's phone and the a person picks up telling Robert that he has Peter and that he is almost dead. The person tells him taht he has to tell the person a secret. This book is good so far but it gets confusing at some parts. I recoment this book to you!

Give a boy a gun by Todd Strasser

After finishing Give a boy a gun by Todd Strasser, I saw that the author is trying to tell us a message. I think the main message is to do unto others as the way you want to be treated. I think that this is the main message because even though Brendan and Gary treated other people well, he did not get treated well by others in his school. This led both of them into violent behaviors. In the book, Brendan talks about how his life would be perfect if people did not make fun of him or tease him. This makes them very angry and makes them want to kill the people who were making fun of him. Even though Brendan and Gary's plan did not work to kill the students at the school dance and no one was killed, the people in the school learned that they shouldn't treat others badly and make fun of people. This is what I thought the biggest lesson that I learned from the book. This book is really good and I understood the book with no problems. I recommend this book to you!

Give a boy a Gun by Todd Strasser

In the book Give a boy a gun by Todd Strasser, the main charcters Brendan and Gary were trying to get revenge on students and teachers who bullied him or teased him at school. Then there became a perfect chance for them to do it: the dance. They realized that the people who usually go to the school dances were the "popular" people. Then they thought that this would be the best opportunity to do it. Then that night of the dance, Brendan and Gary came to the entrance of the door dressed up with a comaflodge jacket and a ski mask. They carried many guns with them but was holding a semiautomatic gun in their hand because it was small and could shoot bullets as fast as machine gun. Then they started to shoot at the roof of the school and then ran to the door. The people relized that it was Brendan and Gary. They told everyone to get down and they start to tie the football players up. Then people reized that Gary and Brendan's plan was not to just shoot them but to make them suffer. They wanted to do this because they wanted the popular and cool to know how it felt like to suffer.

Entry #3- Give a boy a gun by Todd Starsser- 1/2 way through

In the book Give a boy a gun by Todd Strasser, there are many connections in the book connecting with the real world. One example of this is the Columbine shootings that happened in 1999. The characters from the book experienced the same situations as the people in the shooting. They all were bullied around a lot in school and were teased a lot by the popular kids in school. They all played violent video games and were fascinated with guns which led them into violent behaviors. Also, teachers and people in the school saw them getting bullied but they didn't do anything which made the bullies bully them more and more. After a long time of this constant bulling, they couldn't take it anymore and they started to think of a plan so every one can payback for what they did to them. One quote that was sent from Brendan and Gary email (the two main characters) were, "I will kill every friggin one of them. It's going to be Columbine all over agian but only better. Harris and Klebold did it right. Blow the friggin school, then blow yourself away" (p71).

Entry #2- Give a Boy a Gun by Todd Strasser-1/4 way through

In the book Give a Boy a Boy a Gun by Todd Strasser, there are many conflicts the main characters are facing. The main characters names are Brendan and Gary. They go to Middletown high and are best friends. They are always being bullied around harassed by people from their school. In the beggining of the book, there is a suicide note from both of them. In their note, it talks about how their parents supported him but there were these kids from their school that always bothered them and made fun of them and then they thought that there as no point of living.

So far, this book is very good and interesting. What I like about this book is, most of the book is based on the people's perspective so you will be able to understand what people think of the two main characters. I recomend this book to you.

Entry #1-Summer Reading-Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

After reading Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, I learned that the author is trying to tell us a lot of messages. These messages are talked throughout the whole book. I think the main message in this book is betrayal. The two main characters in the book are Amir and Hassan. Amir and Hassan are best friends. Their biggest enemy is this person named Aseef. Aseef always made fun of Amir for hanging out with Hassan (Amir's fathers servant's son) because he thought that Hassan was not worthy enough. One day, Amir and Hassan were walking in their neigborhood and then they met with Assef. They started to get into a big argument and then Assef was about to punch Amir with his brass knuckels and at that moment, Hassan took out his sling shot and pointed at his left eye. Then Assef put his hand down and walked away angrily telling them that he is going to get them back soon. Amir was so happy that Hassan protected him from getting hurt badly. A few weeks later, Hassan was walking in the neighborhood and then Aseef and his friends bring Hassan to an alley and then gets abused by Assef. Hassan was taking too long so Amir starts looking for him. Then, Amir hears Hassan yelling. Amir sees what is happining in the alley and was deciding if he should help Hassan. Amir thought that he should help Hassan for protecting him from getting hurt from Assef. But at the same time, Amir was scared of going because he thought Aseef was going to hurt him too. Then he thought of how Hassan is only the servant's son and he wasn't good enough for him. Then, he walked away and left Hassan there. He did not tell Hassan or nobody else that he saw this. Later, he felt so ashamed and guilty that he did not help his best friend.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was at my reading level and I understood everything without any problems. This book is very intresting. It is very sad of what happens to Amir and Hassan and the turnout of everyone. I recomend the book to people who like to read non-fiction. If you want to find out more about this book, I suggest you to should read this.
